Welcome to The Parent Network Website.

The Parent Network is a social and support group for parents and parents-to-be within the Locks Heath and District area.

Locks Heath and District is an ever-expanding community attracting people from all parts of the country, continent and, indeed, the world. For many a move here is a move away from family and friends and the support that gives. Even parents who have lived in this area for a long time can find themselves isolated and alone if they have few friends going through the same parental challenges as themselves. Some may then find that parenthood is not as much fun as they had hoped.

In April 1997 a band of similarly-minded parents formed a series of weekly groups at which to meet, share experiences and offer moral support. The Parent Network has come a long way since those early days with membership now standing at 100+ families. Our catchment area has expanded along with the membership and now extends into Stubbington, Whiteley and Hedge End.

With increased membership came a demand for both children’s and adults’ social events. These have included pub nights, theatre trips, picnics, group dinners, wine tasting events, ten-pin bowling, casino nights, greyhound racing, and children’s parties and trips – truly something for everyone.

As well as the social side we hold major fund-raising events, like the now famous Nearly New Sales and Photograph sessions. Most of the money raised at these events goes to local charities and the remainder on improving the services offered by The Parent Network to its members.

Other benefits of membership include the all important babysitting circle, Parent Network discount card, and gazebo hire.
